Beth: The incident in question is that some "entertainers" got up on a television "talent" show called "Hey Hey It's Saturday" and did a "black and white minstrel" act, complete with bootpolish blackface and acting like monkeys. Harry Connick Jr was there as a guest judge, gave the act 0/10, and said "If you did that in America, it'd be Hey Hey there's no more show".

He got a very grudging apology from the television station, no apology was made to Africans and people of African descent, and quite a lot of Australians have been commenting all over the place about how it can't possibly be a problem, surely it's just a storm in a teacup.
