Well. [livejournal.com profile] drwally, myself, Euan Lindsey and Shaun Clarke met last night, to discuss a game planned for Conquest 2003. We'd come up with the idea after playing Euan, Doc and myself played Shaun's SLA game at Conquest 2002.

So far, it looks good. Thinktank-wise, I think this Gang Of Four works well together - Doc and Shaun for slightly different angles on the SLA world gestalt and lots of solid SLA GMing experience, Euan for sheer gung-ho-ness and plot concepts from left-field, and me doing my usual shticks of meta-game logistics, plot polishing, and world building. Apart from a slight interruption for Euan to stop his head from smoking (bleach is fun!), the night went very well. We've nailed down the overarching storylines, hammered in some conflicting forces, plastered over some logistical issues, and I think we've got a solid framework for working detail into from there.

The framework is nothing that hasn't been done before, but it looks to me like we have the frills and trills and thrills and spills to make it be good. Anyway, probably I will not talk much more about the game in progress, for fear of spoiler droppage, until the blurb is due (October 14th, apparently), and when it comes time to playtest, some months down the track, and even then, only to seek playtesters and potential GMs.

Also, I have the SLA Industries manual on loan, which I must inhale and memorise. Mmm, dystopian universe.

Congratulations, you're Ambassador G'Kar, proud Narn warrior and spiritual leader.
