Bring on the videoblogging archive already...

kitling made a post recently, entitled, "How many have you been to?" As it turns out, I've been to every midsummer party since 1997... Even though I don't remember them all... I think I may start making an effort to record more significant events in my journal, especially since (as discussed partially in
qamar's journal) I have a poor memory for events. Actually what I'm waiting for is for data storage to become even cheaper, and batteries and solar cell tech to decrease in weight and price. Then I'm going to build me a shoulder mounted webcam and recording microphone, spooling to a big chunky disk. And automated human voice transcription needs to get a little better... Then I can auto-transcribe my entire life onto disk, and video-blog everything. And with the auto transcription, that should be good enough that I can then search my life at will, pulling out images and such as necessary. That should be viable within the next few years... All the tech bits are there (iPod, iPod external battery module, voice recording module, digicam with the thing to link to iPod, frequent syncs to computer to free up space and run proprietary transcription software), just a little too costly to do right now.
