MIFF minipass (10 sessions) booked, lots of films to see.
No actual sessions booked yet, have to wait for the tickets to arrive, apparently. Hrmph.

Also, am quite crunchy all over. I hate antibiotics. They make me feel all icky. Seems to have cleared up the secondary lung infection though... Am also hoping my voice recovers in time to start Carmina next month. I seem to have entirely lost the ability to access my falsetto register, but I'm assuming this is because my vocal cords are still coated in goop.

Picked up the programme for MIFF today and see some very interesting pieces in there. Definately putting myself down for The Cat's Meow but there are a few others that I'm interested in.

No, it won't. I wanna take two weeks off and see the whole damn thing... but there ain't no way in hell I can justify it. I can't even justify letting you take leave, let alone myself. :-/ Bah. The world should stop for film festival, I say.

I have the hardest time imagining you singing Carmina!

I sang a huge portion of it when I was in my choral group quite a few years ago, and totally fell in love with the piece. I remember one of the soloists did an absolutely amazing job in the midst of dealing with cancer...she died very soon afterwards, unfortunately. Her courage and dedication to her art was an inspiration to me at the time. (I was considering getting more seriously involved in singing). It's been a while since I've thought of her...I'm glad for the reminder.

You do? :) Well, there's weirder... normally I sing Bass, but this'll be the third time I've sung Carmina, so this time I'm planning to sing Alto (yes, I normally have about three and a bit octaves of vocal range, with a fair overlap between falsetto and normal in the middle, and Alto is right where my falsetto range is). At least, I'm hoping my falsetto register will have come back in time, so I can... Damn flu. I'm down to about one and a half octaves of vocal register, all at the bottom end. It was less than one octave yesterday, though, so it's getting better. :)
